We Must Protect the Rule of Law and Restore Order

We Must Protect the Rule of Law and Restore Order

For the past three and a half years, President Donald Trump has guided the nation with an “America First” philosophy. He championed fair and reciprocal trade deals, brought countless jobs back to the United States, and cut taxes so that Americans could have more money in their pockets. Residents in Arizona have seen firsthand what President Trump has achieved for them. However, the biggest accomplishment for the Grand Canyon State may be how the president brought a renewed focus to our nation’s border security.

This is deeply personal to me. My son Brandon, a Sergeant with the Mesa Police Department, was killed on May 12, 2014 in a violent head on collision by an illegal immigrant driving drunk and high on meth.

Approximately 14.3 million illegal aliens live within the United States, with more than 400,000 living in Arizona. Once they illegally cross the border and arrive here, they pursue jobs just like any normal person would after arriving to a new country. Unfortunately, rather than go through the proper channels to immigrate to the United States, they broke the law and crossed the border when they knowingly shouldn’t have.

More than 7 million of the illegal aliens within our nation are estimated to hold jobs in the economy – that includes Arizona. These are jobs that could and should belong to Americans. President Trump understands this and has used every tool at his disposal to enforce our federal immigration laws. Take Mississippi, for example. Last summer, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested nearly 700 suspected illegal aliens at poultry processing plants in the Magnolia State. In the week that followed, U.S. citizens flocked to the open positions that were now available.

While Arizona has not seen anything of this scale yet, the state has been far from left out in the cold. President Trump continues to act quickly in Arizona, ensuring that jobs held by illegal aliens rightfully go to U.S. citizens and lawful immigrants. It’s no secret that illegal aliens aim for low-skilled positions, such as farming and construction, when they first arrive, but these are jobs that Americans need now more than ever – especially considering that our economy is recovering from the coronavirus pandemic.

And other than taking jobs that rightfully belong to Americans, we don’t exactly know who these illegal aliens are coming into our country. They’re not using the proper channels to enter, so they aren’t vetted before arriving here. Almost 3 percent of the illegal aliens in Arizona are incarcerated in state or local facilities at sometime throughout the year – a much higher rate than the citizens and lawful immigrants of the state.

We have seen too many Americans suffer at the hands of criminal illegal aliens in recent years. Tragedies such as the murders of Kate Steinle and Mollie Tibetts make the news more often than they ever should. This happens in Arizona just as it does across the nation, and we know for a fact that dangerous illegal aliens use Arizona as an entry point to sneak across the border. President Trump understands this as well and has worked to close the Arizona border off from dangerous criminals.

Just as he promised on the campaign trail back in 2016, President Trump is quickly building a wall across our southern border and has increased our nation’s border security. The Trump Administration has more than 270 miles of the wall built so far, and the results are already showing. In July alone, the number of border apprehensions had been reduced by half from year to year. That news should help any Arizonan sleep well at night.

In 2016, President Trump promised that he would implement commonsense policies to protect American jobs, secure our borders, and protect us from the potentially dangerous criminals that want to escape into the United States. And we have proof that his policies are working. In the last three months, we have seen more than 9 million jobs added to the economy, and the number of illegal aliens attempting to cross the border has decreased substantially.

The results are in. President Trump’s policies are working. Look at what he has accomplished for Arizona and the nation over the last three and a half years. Now imagine where we could be if the president has another four years in office. President Trump is the right man for the job and has a proven track record that can back him up.

A nation without Borders, is not a nation

OP-ED by Angel Mom Kiyan Michael

As the DNC releases more deception and support concerning our borders, and their desire to open our nation to wide spread overtake of illegals, there are thousands upon thousands illegals waiting in Panama and other countries waiting and hoping our President leaves office to massively invade and over power our BP and our borders.

As an angel parent who lost our wonderful 21 year old son, Brandon Randolph Michael to a twice deported illegal because of weak borders and a lack of enforcing our laws, I know first hand the devastation of such a preventable death. Every hour, one American is negatively affected by illegal activity, either by automobile crashes as in our case, identity theft, rape, murder, economic impacts, home and property list goes on and on.

Last year, I witnessed first hand the emergency at our southern borders. I saw our devoted BP agents risk their lives over and over to save the life of illegals drowning in an attempt to cross the Rio Grand River. Many times resulting in pulling the bodies of dead children from the river. Our BP are met with a hateful tone by the democrats in Congress who seem to careless that our agents at the border are under constant gun fire, vicious assault from the drug cartel, consistently exposed to all types of disease and at the end of the day, they deserve to go home to their families.

President Trump has shut down the disastrous catch and release policy by the former administration which illegals used to their advantage to desert their own countries, with a child, which dna proved over 80% of these children weren’t related to the adult accompanying them. Prior to President Trump ending many of the programs that were leading to the over run of our borders, the Obama administration was aiding the overtake of our nation’s borders to the tune of 140 thousand per month, consistently for months. We can recall observing democrat politicians like Corey Booker defying the law, crossing over to Central America and personally escorting illegals, ignoring our laws back into our nation.

I want the American public to know, I was at the border and there aren’t any children in cages. The photos they are seeing is from Michelle Obama’s husbands administration. Yes, Michelle is lying to imply otherwise. The only children separated at the border, have to be because as I stated previously, and it’s been proven, the adult trafficking them in aren’t related to them.

Our borders must be secured and President Trump is ensuring that they are. As our President has stated, “A nation without Borders, is not a nation.”

Brandon Randolph Michael

Brandon Randolph Michael

Brandon Randolph Michael was born on May 7, 1986 in Norfolk, Virginia to a Naval career family, Parents Robert & Kiyan Michael, Older Brother B.J, and younger sister Keilah Michael.

Brandon loved animals, both and wild and domesticated. Brandon knew no enemies. He had a sincere heart of giving and caring. Even as a young child, Brandon’s desire was to feed the hungry and would ask to give clothes out of his closet to the needy. He served as a page to Jacksonville’s city council, and in his local church as well as a life guard during the summer months. Brandon was full of life with a reassuring smile to all who knew him. Somehow, he sensed when others were hurting and made it his mission to reach out to them with his wide smile. He was an Advid Dallas Cowboy fan and Brandon loved and valued his family.

Brandon was engaged to be married but his dreams were cut short on August 15, 2007. While on his way to the bank during his lunch break, Brandon was hit by a twice deported illegal alien, causing his car to flip, killing him. The illegal alien, Mario Tellez, had been stopped by local law enforcement several months prior and was just given a fine for driving without a drivers license and released. After hitting our son, the illegal alien got out of his car and watched Brandon take his last breaths. The illegal refused to admit he was driving, (although he was the only person in the vehicle), causing the state of Florida to have to prove he was behind the wheel. Now, our family not only had to deal with the sudden lose of our middle child, we also had to endure a lengthy trail. After the illegal was identified by an enforcement officer that had been on the scene, he was sentenced to just two years and deported once again.

Brandon deserved to still be here. Because the state of Florida and our nation failed to secure Brandon’s safety by not enforcing our immigration laws and failed to enforce the laws we had, Brandon never received the justice due to him as an American citizen. As Brandon’s family, in 2017, we founded the Brandon Michael Foundation and begin to work hand and hand with Angel Families to bring much needed changes to our immigration laws and enforcement to better protect all Americans citizens. My husband Robert and I first met with law enforcement Officers in Hernando County as support to our Governors proposed 287g program. We are deligently working to meet with cities, county and state leaders and Sheriffs throughout Florida to encourage better communication and enforcement of immigration policies thereby further support 287g as well as eliminate and further prohibit sanctuary cities. We are hopeful we’re given the opportunity to travel to other states throughout the U.S. to help develop and encourage similar immigration legislation. Our family has been honored to be guest of Florida’s Govenor and First Lady DeSantis’ first state of the state address and 2019 Governor’s Black History Celebration.
